Acute Prescriptions

Acute prescriptions are medicines that have been issued by the GP but not added to your repeat prescription records. This is usually new medication issued for a trial period and will normally require a review visit with your GP prior to being added onto your repeat prescription record.

Please note that receptionists are unable to automatically submit requests for acute prescriptions in the same manner as repeats and will forward all requests onto GP's. Requests for acute prescriptions, may be reused and you may be asked to make an appointment with your GP.
