When your repeat prescription is due please make your request in writing. Alternatively, you can order your repeat prescription via our email address: parkfields.medicalcentre@nhs.net or directly online via the link at the top of this page. New online users are required to complete a simple registration.
We do not accept prescription requests over the telephone.
Please allow us 72 hours for processing.
Please note prescriptions requested after surgery hours will be processed 72 hours from the next working day under the current pandemic situation.
Acute prescriptions are medicines that have been issued by the GP but not added to your repeat prescription records. This is usually new medication issued for a trial period and will normally require a review visit with your GP prior to being added onto your repeat prescription record.
Please note that receptionists are unable to automatically submit requests for acute prescriptions in the same manner as repeats and will forward all requests onto GP's. Requests for acute prescriptions may be re-used and you may be asked to make an appointment with your GP.
Please ensure that you visit your doctor or nurse regularly for your medication review.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
